A sharp, dry treble attack: in running bol text Tak usually compounds Ta on the dayan with a closed Ka on the bayan — both hands stopping the sound together for a tight consonant. Some lineages instead use it for a single closed stroke at the dayan's edge; as always, the spoken syllable is a label and the teacher's nikas decides.
Taka and Naka chains (as in Gajajhampa's theka) run this closure at speed, alternating treble and bass closures into a dry rattle that offsets the open strokes around it.
