Keeping it
Clap on 1, 4 and 6. Nothing structural falls on the other matras.

Minority view
chandrakantha.com marks the second vibhaag (matras 4–5) as a wave (clap, 2, 3, wave, 2, clap, 2). The other sources consulted give all three vibhaags as tali, which is what this record encodes.
Structure
Seven matras in 3+2+2 with no khali in the reading encoded here — all three cells are tali (X,2,3); one source marks the second cell as khali (see Keeping it). At the same length as Rupak it is the structural inverse (Rupak opens on khali), which makes the pair the clearest demonstration that matra-count alone does not define a tala; the tali/khali design does.
Same 7-matra length as Rupak but the opposite polarity: Tivra has NO khali (all three vibhaags are tali), whereas Rupak opens on khali. Good contrastive pair for teaching that matra-count alone doesn't define a taal.
Origins
A pakhawaj/dhrupad-idiom taal (7 matras) used for dhrupad and instrumental gats; older idiom than the khyal thekas.
