A small cadential figure that carries the line back to sam — kin to the mukhda, and in many lineages the words overlap or swap meanings. Where distinguished, a mohra is a stock, semi-fixed connector (often with a miniature tihai inside) while a mukhda is freer and briefer.
Mohras do the joinery of a performance: closing a passage of theka, capping a variation, bridging into the next section. They are learned by the dozen and deployed reflexively; their modesty is the point — cadence without spectacle.
